Josiah has been on the anti-seizure medication (Keppra 500mg 2X a day) for about a month which has kept the seizures from happening. This worked until October 2nd when he had a seizure for the first time after starting the medication. Yesterday, October 7th he had two seizures 2 hours apart. I called his neurosurgeon's office to update them that the seizures had come back, and they wanted us to come in ASAP for another MRI to keep updated on the tumor's size and swelling. They were nice enough to squeeze his surgery pre-op before the MRI which was originally scheduled for October 10th. I am currently in the waiting room for his MRI while I type this. After his MRI at the Northside Imaging Center, we are going back to the neurosurgeon office and meeting with the anesthesiologist for the second part of his pre-op. The neurosurgeon's physician's assistant told us that if today's MRI indicates significant swelling, they may want to put him on a steroid to keep the swelling down leading up to the wedding and surgery. They increased his Keppra dosage to 1000mg 2X a day which will hopefully hold off the seizures as well. They advised him to not drive anymore until further notice. Please everyone pray that this MRI's results come back without significant swelling. Please pray that he stops having these seizures, and that we can look forward to a happy wedding day in 5 days.
