When we got to the hospital at 9:15 they took him back for a CT scan to use for reference during the surgery. They brought him in a little room after and hooked him up to IVs with fluid and some calming medicine. I got to be back there with him for 30 minutes before surgery, and he was making jokes and in good spirits. He said he feels at peace and not nervous at all. So they took him back to start surgery at 11:50, 50 minutes behind schedule.
