Here are some Josiah updates from his appointments yesterday and today:
Good news - chest CT showed no cancer! There is just some scar tissue from a fracture he may have had in the past that healed up.
Speech pathology went well, and there are no new aphasia deficits since surgery! They will be sending exercises he can work on though to help improve the current anomic aphasia he has though from before the surgery.
The post op appointment went well, and the surgeon was please on how he was doing and the amount of the tumor he was able to remove. It is still up in the air if his vision on his right peripheral will return or not. Please pray it returns! His surgeon didn’t want to take his stitches out just yet, so we will be back the morning of the 31st to get those removed.
We met with oncology, and she wants him to meet with radiation oncology to start up radiation again. It would potentially be daily for 4 weeks and paired with a low dose chemo that works in tandem with radiation. They are looking into the molecular testing of his tumor to see if he is eligible for some promising clinical trials to do after radiation and chemo.
We will need to come back out to Houston in about 2 weeks to start the process, but we will know more details once we meet with radiation oncology within the next 2 days.
He is bummed to be going through this again, as he obviously hated being on chemo and going through radiation. Please pray for him and his heart through this. Please also pray for complete healing. I’ve said it before, and I will say it again, our God can do anything! <3
