Great update! The oncologist spoke with the clinical center for targeted therapy at MD Anderson, and there is a promising clinical trial he can do. It combines Temodar chemo pills which he’s been on before with a new type of PARP1 selective inhibitor drug that helps penetrate the blood brain barrier and kill the cancer more effectively and keep it from returning. This trial would be done hopefully in place of radiation. If this trial isn’t effective for him, he can always do radiation instead later. This is a global trial that only 20-30 individuals are eligible for, so we feel grateful he was able to be a part of it. So far they are seeing no negative side effects with this! We both feel really good about the trial, but it will still require long term stay in Houston because they have to closely monitor him while he is in this trial. They are calling later for more details on this! Thank you everyone for your continued prayers 🙏 We are SO incredibly thankful for so many friends and family members helping financially with this journey. If you feel led to give, I have posted the GoFundMe link here: https://gofund.me/3309f57f. Our biggest ask is the prayers and faith that God can heal Josiah and use him as a testimony for the goodness of God ❤️
