Hey guys! Sorry this has been a long time coming, but we finally have the most solid news we will get on the latest MRI. At this point, his oncologist, neurosurgeon, physician's assistant, and many other doctors from a tumor conference have taken a look at his latest scans. It has been agreed that whatever they see is VERY small, and that it could be one of two things. 1. radiation change, or 2. recurrent low grade tumor. His doctors believe though that it is radiation change which they confirmed can happen anywhere from a year to 20 years out from his radiation therapy. His radiation was January of 2020, so we are a little over a year out from that, so that's what they believe it to be. IF it is tumor recurrence, it is low grade tumor. His oncologist said that the mutation of glioblastoma he has originated from a low grade tumor in the first place which he has likely had for years. So if it is a low grade tumor recurrence, it can be tackled along with everything else he has taken on. However, we are PRAYING so hard that his next MRI on April 5th will show a clean scan, and we know this is 100% possible with God and the help of all of our family and friends praying! Duke will be seeing him within a week or two of that scan to talk about the possibilities of promising clinical trials that can help with his treatment and healing. No more chemo for now!!!! Just continuing his Optune head gear with the tumor treating fields (TTF) treatment. THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for the prayer and support you have all given us. I say this all the time, but we feel so very blessed. Josiah's 30th birthday is March 31st, and we know by God's grace and healing that he will have many, many more birthdays to come. <3
That is amazing news!! God is great and I know April will be even better news :)
