MRI showed the tumor had grown a little since the 9/3 scan. The ABTI imaging showed 4 out of 4 markers indicate that it is tumor and not radiation change. There is always a small chance though some of it is radiation change/scarring and not tumor which is better of course, but they won’t know for sure until they do surgery. The neurosurgeon Dr. Prabhu feels that surgery is the best course of action to start with, and it is scheduled for October 15th. It will be an awake craniotomy so that they can try to not affect functioning brain tissue. After surgery, he will likely need chemotherapy and/or radiation again, but we will revisit that again based on what they are able to remove. They will be running testing again on the new tumor resected. He will need a functional MRI done soon and some other appointments leading up to the surgery. Not sure when we are coming back yet based on that. Those will hopefully be scheduled today so we will know.
We are hoping to go back home soon though for a little in a few days before coming back to Houston for the surgery.
Anxiety is high and it’s sad he will have to go through this again. The surgery will be one day before his 5 year craniotomy anniversary and 2 days after our 5 year wedding anniversary. Prayers are definitely welcome.
We are praying and we believe that God has plans for you, Josiah. They are good plans ...plans to heal you and prosper you.
My son and his wife and nine kids live in Houston. It's a fun city.
We miss you. Greetings to all your family!
